Seat Belt Webbing

Postby Peter Ferguson » 08 Jan 2018 12:12

Thinking of getting the seatbelt webbing on my RV8 replaced. Looking at previous posts there are some entries 4/14 to 6/14 which mention a business called Quickfit Safety Belt Service of Stanmore. It looks as though a V8 Workshop Note was to be produced and/ or this business to be listed as a recommended supplier. May be looking in the wrong place but cannot find either.
So my question is has anyone had recent experience of getting their seat belts re webbed to their satisfaction?
Many thanks.

We have a dedicated search box on the V8 Website homepage and on some of the core webpages which searches the whole of the V8 Website content. All you have to do is type in the key words. So typing in "seat belts" brings up four links:
RV8NOTE391 - RV8 seatbelt repair or replacement
RV8NOTE424 - RV8 seatbelt repair or replacement
RV8NOTE329 - unlocking a seatbelt inertia reel
V8NOTE468 - a warning for tall people!

You could also trace information on topics using the detailed index I maintain for each workshop notes series: ... 0Index.pdf

Finally do take a moment to check out the search tips available as a link alongside the search box.

There is an MG enthusiast who replaces seat belt webbing with a wide range of colours available. He started out wanting colour matched belts for his own MG and now provides the service to others. I understand them to be BS Standard materials and made to BS requirements.

He 'trades' via Facebook as 'MGBelts' and you can find him on Facebook. You can send him a message from that website. Alternatively 07967594735

I enquired as to availability of RV8 belts and he said he would need the complete belts sent to him so he could replace the webbing. I haven't done so yet as I have more important things to do to my car first!

Hope that helps.

Try looking on ebay. There is guy in Bromsgrove that looks like he has the right belts for my Daimler. Not needing any on the MG right now. About £30.
